Vegan in Sydney

Eating out as a vegan is considered “difficult” but really if you take the time to look. There will almost always be something on a menu that you can have. Yeah you might have to take a few things off and ask them to add something else, but its doable. Here in Sydney we are lucky to have access to some incredible vegetarian/vegan cafes and restaurants. And it will only continue to get better. Here are some of places where I’ve tried since turning plant based…

Bodhi  – Near Hyde ParkScreen Shot 2017-05-25 at 11.53.33 AM
Vegan yum cha! Need I say more. I’ve been here with a few non-vegans and they say that it was just as good as the real thing. The nights have a delicious a la carte menu. The best vegan food I’ve tried.

Green Gourmet – Newtown
Classic chinese dishes made vegan. Including mock meats, rice paper rolls, curries and wontons. They offer a cheap buffet meal in the evenings.

Sadhana – Bondi Beach
Perfect spot for breakfast. They have manyScreen Shot 2017-05-25 at 11.57.54 AM options including vegan NEGGS. The enmore location has recently closed but the bondi beach cafe is still kicking. Show it some love.

Nalini’s Wholesome Street Food
– Bondi Junction

Indian street food but all vegan.
Very colourful food and decor.

Gigi’s Pizzeria
– Newtown
100% plant based pizza. They have some other options but you really shouldn’t go past the pizza. You’ll soon realise that you don’t need cheese or meats to have a good italian feed.

Lentil As Anything – Newtown
This place has been very popular for years. 100% plant baseScreen Shot 2017-05-25 at 11.51.53 AMd ingredients are used in their dishes and the meals change daily. You pay on a donation basis with all proceeds going to keeping the restaurant running. Their motto is to make their restaurant accessible to everyone. Always good hearty meals.

Gelato Blue  – Newtown
100% plant based icecream. Yeah you heard me. As of March 2016 this gelato bar only offers ice cream which is coconut milk based and have over 30 different flavours to choose from. They also have takeaway tubs! And they say Vegan’s miss out.

Earth To Table – Bondi Junction
This hidden gem is 100% raw, but don’t let that throw you off because it is beautiful, fresh, yummy food. They also offer heaps of vegan cakes and other treats. The laid back vibe and products they sell are other wins for this place.

Speedos – North Bondi
This is the only non-vegan venue on the list. Saying that it is one of the most popular amongst vegans. They have quite a few options for plant based lovers including pancakes, a burger, and yogi plate full of fresh fruit and vegies. It’s also a good place for instagram photos, cause that’s very important.

The Green Lion – RozelleScreen Shot 2017-05-25 at 11.55.27 AM
This pub is 100% vegan. Yep that’s right. Burgers, pizza, taco’s, chips and the rest of the pub grub here are amazingly accurate and scrumptious.

Marrickville Markets – Marrickville
This is the best market in Sydney with a large array of fruit and veg, plants and other things. Alongside that are many vegan options at the food stalls.

Soul Burger – Randwick & Glebe
Now with 2 locations this establishment is the most popular place for vegan to get their burger fix. They offer a wide range of options including pulled pork, the classic cheese burger and falafel burger. Get 4 different types of chips on the side and a coconut milk shake and your laughing.
